Apple Face Mask

Hey,

I love apples and they are everywhere during fall and they make great face masks too! All you need is two things for this face mask, one large apple and honey.

The first thing you need to do is peel the apple and remove the cores and seeds. After that you blend the apple and mix in 2 tablespoons of honey. Once everything is well mixed you cover this and store it in the fridge for 10 minutes, then you apply to your face and let sit for 15 minutes afterwards you rinse off and wash/tone/moisturize your face like normal. If this causes irritation remove it immediately.

This face makes not only has vitamins that are good for your skin but can help prevent wrinkles, dulling skin, shrink pores, and gently exfoliate.

Have you tried this mask? If you try this please share with me how it worked for you!

ELF vs. Wet n Wild: Cream Eyeliner

Metallic Olive
        VS

Hey,
It has been a while since I've done one of these, actually since I have done a review. Today I wanted to talk to you about cream eyeliners, I have used both of these for quite some time, I have actually went through an ELF cream eyeliner.

So the basics of the two are they are both really black and cheap. The ELF packaging is much better then the Wet n Wild packaging, personally I feel the ELF looks nicer then the WnW, the WnW is actually quite cheap looking. Both these eyeliners are 3usd. The WnW stays on longer then the ELF liner but they are both quite long lasting. Both seem to take just as long to dry out. They are both smooth and creamy, they are a harder cream then those that are liquidy. I have a review on the ELF liner which you can see here. These both come with a brush, the ELF one is much nicer, the WnW actually hurt my eye when I gave it a try.

Over all I think they are both great, but I would recommend the WnW over the ELF, because in the US it's more obtainable and a bit better, but both are nice and would do a great job. I feel you can't go wrong with one of these liners and either or both are worth giving a try.

Have you tried these yet, which do you prefer?

Brown sugar face mask/scrub

Hey,

This face mask is one that I have been doing for quite some time and saw in a magazine years ago, I want to say it was Seventeen but I could be wrong. This is such a simple face mask/scrub; it only requires two ingredients and only take fifteen minutes from start to finish. This really helps with acne and gives you soft skin, and these are things almost everyone already has.

All you need for this is 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and 1/4 cup of milk, organic is best but use what you have. Next just mix the two together and apply to your face, scrub this in circular motions for one to two minutes then let sit on your face for five to ten minutes. After you let it sit on your face rinse it off and wash and tone your face like normal. You can add a tablespoon of olive oil into this if you have dry skin.

Thanks for reading, please leave any request below, and let me know if you try this and how it works for you!

Hey,

It's about that time again, and I wanted to share with you some great gift ideas, and keep in mind it may be early but with shipping and if your not in the US you may want to start ordering US based things now. Brushes make great gifts for all types of makeup lovers, you can't go wrong with a good brush set and I hope this helps guide you with picking a good brush kit for gifting during this holiday season. This is only about brushes but I can do one on palettes and sets if you would like. Everything will be hyperlinked. Also you can use the code DEAL2012 for 10% off during October, I'll update this monthly with the new code.

This first set is for some one just starting out or looking for a basic set of good brushes, the Essential Kit. These are your basic brushes, it comes with 12 brushes and in several colors. You can get this with or with out the brush cup. This kit is 89usd without the brush cup or 109usd with the brush cup. This is really good for beginners or those who just want a good basic brush kit. Also comes in a Vegan Kit.

They also have the Essential kit split up between an Eyes Kit for 52usd and a Face Kit for 57usd.

This next kit is the completion of the Essential kit in my opinion; this one is good for more advanced users or those who already have the Essential kit or their basic brushes. This kit is the Premium Kit. This comes with 15 brushes and a brush roll/pouch, but is a bit more pricey; it cost 149usd.

These next kits are sold as a set or separately; they are also synthetic and great for applying foundation and concealer. These are the Synthetic Essential Kit, for 119usd, it includes 10 brushes, five face and five eye brushes. The Eye Kit for 55usd and the Face Kit for 59usd are also great alternatives for those who want one and not the other.

They also have a great Performance Eyes Kit, for 55usd which is great for those who love eye makeup or do a lot of detailed makeup, great gift for beginner makeup artist or aspiring makeup artist. This kit has eight small brushes designed for a more precise and detailed makeup.

These brushes also come in Travel Kits and Individual Brushes.

A Dry n' Shape for 29usd and is a lovely gift for someone who already has all these kits or a lovely accompanying gift to one of these kits.

I know I said this was about brushes but I figured I would mention they do have great Eyeshadow Palettes. They are all pretty wearable colors in their three palettes, the Bare Palette, the Dare Palette, and the Flare Palette. These all come with eight shadows and a dual ended eye brush; all the palettes are 35usd.

These brushes are great for all the up coming holidays and birthdays, whither you are shopping for a beginner or an experienced makeup lover. Here's the Sigma link for those who would just like to browse.

Favorite fall polishes

Hey,

As you may know I love nail polish, I love having my nails polished and just the way it looks. I am one of those people who changes their nails and makeup for the seasons, so I figured I would do a post on my favorite fall polishes, I love these kinds of post and videos and thought this would be a fun post to do. I want to say that my nails are a little messy, because I didn't have time clean up, take pictures and then take of my polish to re polish my nails for the week, so sorry about the sloppy nails, I hope that doesn't bother anyone too much.

I have a total of twelve polishes I want to talk about, two I don't have shown, one I have a past NOTD on, you can see that here, I love this polish for fall, Vintage Boutique by Avon is a gorgeous brown and a great fall polish. The other polish is a top coat, the NYC matte top coat, I don't know the full name, sorry, but it is in the two dollar polish line. I love matte nails for fall, I think its just a fun and different thing to do, plus it really makes a difference in a polish.

These first five are all reds, red is my favorite color, especially for fall. These range from an pinkish/coral red to a blackened red with red shimmer. These are all from Avon, most of the polish I'm going to mention are though, I really do love their polishes.

Sorry for the glare..

From left to right: Blossom, Real Red, Red Wine, Tweed, Wicked. These are all from the Nailwear pro line, except for Red Wine, it is from the Speed dry+ line. This is with two coats for all.

These next polishes are the colorful polish I love for fall. From left to right: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Black Platinum, Avon Nailwear pro in Empower, Vivid Violette the brightest color I ever wear for fall, and Olive Green, and lastly another Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Pat on the Black. The twp purples came out weird, the one looks blue and the other looks black, but they are both purples, ones a brighter purple with blue shimmer and the other is a plum.

In case your were wondering why a few bottles have polish all over them, I had a few polishes break a couple years back and these are the ones who survived it. Also well I'm on the topic of nails, my Mani Mondays are over, I may do NOTD's every once in a while but an actual dedicated day for the post just wont be possible, I'm too busy to have it up on time and then I just don't get around to it until it's like Friday or my polish is chipped. I also may not be able to paint my nails in a month or so, and therefore the post would end there any ways, but I will try to do NOTD's on Tuesdays until then. I'm thinking of doing a post on Mondays on my eyeshadow looks of the week, starting next week to take place of the Mani Monday.

What are your favorite fall polishes, any that you think I need to have in my favorites?

Avocado Hair Mask

Hey,

This hair mask is very moisturizing and easy to make. All you need is an avocado and either coconut or olive oil.

The first thing you do is peel and pit the avocado, then mash it. Mix in 2 table spoons of oil either coconut or olive and then apply to hair, let this sit in your hair for at least thirty minutes.

This will leave your hair super soft and moisturized. If you have any left over you can apply to your face and let sit for 15 minutes, I would only do this if you have dry skin.

Simple and easy hair or face mask, thats great for the fall weather. Have you tried this before?

Review: Lorac Ooh La Lace Palette

LORAC - Ooh La Lace Baked Shimmer & Matte Eye Shadow Palette Hey,

I realized that a. I haven't been posting lately and b. I haven't ever reviewed anything high end. I personally don't purchase much high end makeup, because I'm still a teenager and I buy my own makeup and don't have a job, so therefore high end isn't always in my budget, but I do on occasion like to splurge on something. This palette was my first high end purchase; I feel like it, well the brand actually isn't talked much about in the beauty community, and to me that is insane, Lorac is an AMAZING brand, well for eyeshadows at least, and it's also fairly cheap, you may disagree with me on that but I personally feel 36 dollars for a six pan eyeshadow palette isn't bad at all, that's six dollars (I'm using US currency) for an eyeshadow. That are huge too, so its going to last you forever! This palette has been out for over a year.

This palette is adorable, it has the cutest name and packaging. Seriously, who doesn't love lace? The palettes is silver with black lace on the outside; the inside is sparkly black, with a mirror. There are three matte shades, a dark brown, black, and gray. The other three shades are shimmers, these colors are an cream, nude, and a bronze. Here are the names of the shadows: Lust (cream with shimmer), Smolder (matte gray), Risqué (matte black), Stunner (light bronze with shimmer), Knockout (bronze with shimmer), Racy (matte brown). Other then the adorable packaging the bronze shade is what attracted me to this palette, it's such a gorgeous shadow. This is a baked palette so the shadows can be used wet or dry, all of them are pigmented. The shimmer shades are better in pigmentation then the matte, but the matte ones are still really nice, also none of these are chalky or have a lot of fall out. You can create several different smokey eyes and day time looks with this palette. Looks for a seasons and occasions.

Overall I feel this is a really great palette, and worth the money. It has good pigment, is fairly affordable. Includes shades that you're likely to get use out of all of them, personally I when I buy a palette and only use half of the shadows I feel it was a bit of a waste but this was definitely not the case. There is a good mix of mattes and shimmers, many looks can be created with it too. The only down fall of this palette is you can not get outside of the US, but if you are in the US I really suggest checking this palette out, it can be purchased online or in stores at Ulta and Sephora, and of course www.loraccosmetics.com.

Have you tried Lorac or this palette? What were your thoughts on them?

DIY Pore strips

Hey,
This week I wanted to share DIY pore strips with you, I have seen so many different ways of doing this and figured I would share a few of them with you.

This first one is using glue, I'm sure if you have ever looked up DIY pore strips you've seen this method. What you do is apply glue, I use non-toxic Elmer's school glue, you just apply a thin layer of the glue around your nose and any where else you have pores you'd like to clean out. After you apply it to your face let it dry, this usely takes no more then five minutes but can take up to ten depending on how thick you applied it. Once its dry you slowly and carefully pull it off.

For this one you need an egg and tissue paper; your going to want to separate the egg yolk and egg white. Save the egg yolk, it can be used afterwards or in your hair to add some extra moisture. All you do for this one is beat the egg white till its a bit frothy or has bubbles then you apply it like you apply the glue then you place a pre-cut piece of tissue paper on top of the egg, you could do this with the glue but it peels off better on its own then the egg does. Just like the glue you place it where you feel needs to be cleaned out and then you let it dry this does take a bit longer then the glue, and once its dry you carefully and slowly pull it off.

The last one I wanted to share with you uses gelatin, I personally have never tried this one but have heard great things about it. You need 1 tablespoon of plain gelatin and 1 tablespoons of milk, mix it, it will be chunky then you microwave it for 10 to 15 seconds, let it cool down so you don't burn yourself. This one applies just like the glue, you do the same method of removal, but this one may take the longest to dry.

After you do this make sure you apply a toner, using an ice cube and going over your pores to close them is another good thing to do after doing one of these.

September Favorites!

Isn't this cute? I find it on google, I was going to use a picture of all my favorites but I couldn't find my phone or camera.
Hey,

So I wrote this on the first, and I went all day not realizing that it was October, I just hope I didn't write the date any where...

So the first thing I have been loving is the Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer, I had gotten a sample of this and the MUFE Full Coverage concealer a while back and I have been using this one more and I absolutely love this concealer, I'm going to give the other one a try too, but I think I might get the full size of this concealer.

Another favorite of mine this month and the past three has been Coastal Scents Fall Festival palette, I'm not going to talk about this too much, since I rave about it constantly, but I am going to add the link here for the review I have on it.

This month I was using a combo of two Rimmel mascaras, Lycra Lash Extender and Extra Wow; I love the way this combo makes my lashes look. I have been testing out the Wet n Wild cream liner, to compare it to the ELF one, and it is definitely a favorite of the month. I also wanted to mention the Avon Perfect Eyebrow pencil, it is a dual ended pencil, one side spoolie other side the brow pencil and it is really great, I think they might be doing away with them so I figured I would mention these so there's still a chance to try before they are gone, and I really do love these, I use this every day for my brows, it is my all time favorite thing for my brows and its cheap. As I was typing this an Avon commercial came on...

For blush this month I have been using an ELF Studio line blusher in Blushing Rose, it is such a gorgeous blush for fall, I love the way this looks in the backs of my cheeks half in the hallows and half on the bone. Revlon Colorburst? Lipgloss in Rose Gold has been my go to lipgloss this pretty much just lives in my bag now, it is so pretty I really don't know if they still have this one but if they do check it out it is so pretty for fall, or just any season.

I have been in a rut lately, using the same products, but changing up my eye makeup, and by that I mean using four different colors and just changing the placement, I think I'm going to do one of those basket of the week things, that make you switch it up and get some use out of other things, maybe if I do I'll make a post about it.

What have your favorites this month been? I should have a late mani monday posted later today.
